Our Mission
Choza Del Mundo is a sanctuary for reconnection—with ourselves, each other, and nature.
In a time when rapid development strains the Earth’s resources, communities suffer, biodiversity declines, and cultural wisdom fades, Choza offers a path back to balance.
After 20 years of reforestation and mindful creation, La Choza offers a space for healing, reflection, and stewardship. We invite individuals to immerse in nature, take part in its care, and become active stewards of its future. Through partnerships with artists, thinkers, and changemakers, we are growing a community committed to living in harmony with the Earth.
For 20 years, we have been restoring the natural landscape at La Choza. The land was largely deforested when we took ownership. It now thrives. The forest is regrowing. We continue to support this maturation process. The 26 acres of La Choza del Mundo connect with the La Cangreja national park and a tract of prime forest adjacent and down the valley from us. We are an important corridor for wildlife. Many in this local area of Costa Rica are doing much to support the natural landscape, creating a special zone of nature, for miles around. We work to document and expand this process of rejuvenation.
We host immersive wellbeing experiences and provide space for others to gather and retreat.
Re-wild your senses, your nervous system, and your sense of belonging at your own pace and programming.
Retreat into the jungle and reset your rhythm with movement, fasting, rest, and nature-based practices.
Gather with like-minded seekers, family & friends, business or change-makers in a space designed for presence and purpose.

La Choza del Mundo is a living experiment in restoration, creativity, and connection.
We invite individuals, families, and change-makers to engage with our mission through three meaningful pathways
Guardians of the land and its future.
Join a limited two-year program that sustains and protects the heart of La Choza—the land, wildlife, and daily care of this rewilded sanctuary. In return, stewards gain exclusive access to the La Choza, a voice in our evolving vision and participate in shaping the future. Stewardship is the foundation from which all other La Choza programs grow.
Partners in innovation and impact.
Help fuel new ideas and fieldwork at La Choza—funding research, storytelling, conservation tech, and creative regeneration projects. Whether offering fiscal support, volunteering skills, or launching initiatives, patrons act as thought partners and enablers of real-world change across biodiversity, culture, and community.
Residents in restoration.
Fellows re invited to stay at La Choza to explore, create, and contribute. From scientists and educators to artists and healers, fellows bring nature-rooted ideas to life in a space designed for immersion, experimentation, and exchange. Bring your project—and be part of something wild and evolving.
